CORCUSCANT SECURITY FORCES

ISSUE #2 The Task Force's First Mission

If you haven't read Issue #1 you can follow the link HERE. As always, I don't own any rights to the Star Wars franchise. My Fan-Made Comic primarily uses cut-and-paste artwork, but it's not meant for commercial purposes. Rather, it's just a personal story that I created and wanted to share with others.
I hope you enjoy.

A loud explosion shattered the silence of the diplomatic sector on the capital planet late at night. This surface-level area is the hub of political discussions, where dignitaries from various systems gather. Diplomatic immunity is granted to all, regardless of their status.

Senator Shev Palpatine called an urgent meeting with the newly formed CSF task force after the

attack occurred. "It appears we have a terrorist attack on this very planet," announced Palpatine. "Who was hit?" inquired Ava. "The Maridun Consulate," replied Palpatine. "Why would they get hit? They made it clear that they have a neutral stance on this current conflict," added Roe.

"I'm accessing the cameras around the consulate's office now," said Yurro. "There, right there is the person setting the charge." "What species is he?" asked Ava. "Not sure," replied Roe. Ava instructed the tech guy, "Follow him if you can with the cameras and see where he ends up." "Roger that," said Yurro.

Yurro reported, "He ended up in sector 141B, level 70." "That's strange," said Roc. "That area only houses a droid engineering academy. It's mostly occupied by students. We caught a campus spice dealer there a few years ago, but other than that, it's been mostly quiet."

Palpatine asked, "So what is the plan?" Ava spoke up, "We bust in there, cordon off the area, go door to door, and catch this clown." Palpatine asked, "Is that the best plan, Detective Roe?" Roe hesitated but finally spoke up, "I don't think it is. I think we need to go in undercover, get a feel for the local population, and see if we can find this guy without alerting him. If he finds out we're onto him, he might disappear." "Excellent," replied Palpatine. Ava was obviously upset, but the Senator was the boss.

In sector 141b, Roe disguised himself as an ordinary citizen and spent a significant portion of the day in a local cafe. He overheard students discussing exciting opportunities to design droids in remote parts of the galaxy and noticed propaganda about the Techno Union recruiting these engineering students.

Ava was clearly unhappy about not being able to run and gun on the mission, she called in to check on her units in place. Yurro reported, "Nothing to report here," Doc said, "Negative." She thought to herself, "This is a waste." Then, suddenly, the brothers checked in, "LT, we got something." They had witnessed the man from the bombing entering a hotel.

At the hotel, the mysterious man walked through the lobby and into an elevator. When the elevator reached the top floor, the man exited and entered a hidden access port. This was a port which led to a service port in between levels. He opened a data pad and a hologram of an old, gray-haired bearded man appeared. "Take this device and follow the directions. We must disrupt the Republic's plans," said the hologram. The man responded, "Yes, Count Dooku."

Back at the hotel lobby, the team searched every corner but failed to locate the whereabouts of the mysterious man. "He's gone," Ava exclaimed in frustration, directing her annoyance towards Roe, who couldn't help but feel a sense of self-doubt.

I hope you have enjoyed this tale and I would be grateful if you could share your thoughts with me. Your feedback means a lot and it encourages me to keep writing.
